Research & Innovation

Dr Petraco is a Senior Research Fellow at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, where he undertakes clinical experiments in the field of coronary physiology and imaging. He has a special interest in understanding how the blood flows through the arteries into the heart muscle and how to develop diagnostic methods to detect abnormal blood flow patterns.

REVOLUTIONARY TECHNIQUE

During his cardiology training, he undertook a 3-year PhD at Imperial College London where he and a team of researchers develop a revolutionary technique to measure the severity of narrowing in the arteries around the heart, which is now used around the world.
